After Hours Services & Emergencies

If emergency attention is required patients should attend the Outpatient/Casualty area at the Kapunda or Eudunda Hospital for attention and assessment by hospital nursing staff who will contact the appropriate duty doctor. Please contact either the Kapunda Hospital on 08 8566 2007 or the Eudunda Hospital on 08 8581 1404.  All patients seen at the hospital will be required to make a gap payment.

Accounts
Full pension and DVA cardholders will be bulk billed. Payment of the account in full at the time of service is encouraged. To facilitate this credit card facilities are available in addition to accepting cash or cheque (ID may be required). Where payment of account is made the practice will forward the completed claim to Medicare.

Home Visits

Home visits can be organised with the Practice, please call the surgery first thing in the morning.

Health Assessments and Care Plans

These assessments and Plans are available.

Immunisation

This practice actively supports Immunisation for all ages and can be arranged by appointment at any time. The practice allows Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons for immunisation clinics. A full range of childhood immunisations are available at all times, adult and travel immunisations can be accommodated upon request.

Repeat Prescriptions

Best medical care suggests that you make an appointment to discuss your medication before being issued with a repeat prescription as most long term prescriptions allow 3 months supply, after which time a review of your circumstances should be made.  Please advise staff and they will book you into a ‘pit stop’ appointment.  This is a 5min appointment during which the doctor will write your prescription only; any other matters will need to be dealt with at another appointment.

Preventative Care

The practice is committed to preventative care. We may issue a reminder notice offering preventative health services appropriate to the patient's care.

Obstetric Care

Antenatal Care can be provided by the Doctors at both the Kapunda and Eudunda Medical Practice but deliveries and post natal care will be handled at either the Kapunda or Eudunda Hospital. Shared care with specialists is encouraged for patients needing special care.

Telephone Messages

All messages are taken by the receptionist and relayed to the doctor concerned. A consultation will not normally be interrupted to answer the phone.

Interpreter Services

This service if required can be arranged through the Interpreting Services at 55 Currie Street Adelaide on 131450.  This is a 24 hour service.

Confidentiality
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Patient Feedback

The Kapunda and Eudunda Medical Practice endeavours to provide a comprehensive, high quality service for patients. From time to time the practice invites patients to complete a questionnaire on their views and how the practice could be improved. These surveys are completely confidential and help to improve the services we are providing to you.

The practice is keen to be informed if patients are unhappy with any aspect of the care provided and are encouraged to discuss these issues with the practice manager or the appropriate general practitioner. There are also options of using our suggestion box located in the waiting room or writing directly to the practice.  If required contact may be made with the Health Advice and Complaints Unit at 11 Hindmarsh Square, Adelaide.   FreeCall 008 188115.
